What is Juvederm?
JUVÉDERM® is a non-surgical filler, made from a modified form of hyaluronic acid (HA), used to smooth lines and enhance lips. HA is a naturally occurring substance found in your skin. As you age, you start to lose HA, which causes the skin to lose structure and volume, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and folds.

Juvederm is a family of hyaluronic acid products manufactured by Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox. The products include Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Juvederm Vobella, Juvederm Vollure, and Juvederm Voluma. All of these products are hyaluronic acid fillers, which are the most common fillers for restoring facial volume and improving wrinkles.
Juvederm offers several products of different strengths, including the original Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, and now the newer fillers of the Vycross technology Volbella, Vollure, and Voluma. Restylane also has the original Restylane, Restylane Silk, Restylane Dyfine and Restylane Lyft.
Juvederm is a family of injectable dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid used for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and wrinkles such as nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth) for 9 months to a year. Juvederm products are a smooth-texture gel compared to some hyaluronic gel products that have a granular consistency. Juvederm products are developed using Hylacross technology to provide a smoother, more mouldable gel.

The augmentation of soft tissue with temporary dermal fillers is a steadily growing area supported by the ongoing development and advancement of technology and biocompatibility of the products on the market. The longer-lasting, less immunogenic, and thus more comfortable hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers make up by far the largest share of the temporary skin filler market. Since the approval of the first HA filler, Restylane (R), at least 10 HA fillers have been approved by the FDA.
Slow down the effect of aging with Juvederm
In humans, the amount of naturally occurring Ha in the skin decreases with age, which plays an important role in the development of aging characteristics and wrinkling, resulting in reduced tissue elasticity and hydration. In the skin, HA is broken down by hyaluronidase and by free radicals. Supplementation with oral antioxidants theoretically extends the duration of HA fillers, but this has not been demonstrated.
The naturally occurring degradation of HA by hyaluronidase reveals an important feature of HA fillers as well as a major advantage over collagen fillers, namely that infrequent areas of excessive abundance, superficial placement of the filler, or overcorrection can be easily resolved or by intralesional injection of hyaluronidase.
Over time, the once-healthy young skin loses its elasticity and volume. In fact, there are ways to slow down or reverse the effects of aging. You can bring back this youthful look and replenish your natural collagen by restoring lost volume. Facial Injection Treatment has a unique formula that stimulates the production of new collagen and helps to correct lines and wrinkles for up to a year.
Juvederm adds volume to the facial tissue with hyaluronic acid. It stimulates the production of connective tissue that bruises the skin (collagen). With age, the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen decreases. Juvederm plays an essential role to replenish the lost collagen and rejuvenate the skin.

Is JUVÉDERM® reversible?
JUVÉDERM® is reversible, so you can return to your pre-filler appearance if desired. The doctor will work with you to develop a customized treatment plan based on your own unique aesthetic goals. If you decide not to have any more treatment, it will naturally be absorbed into your body, and the effects will fade away in 9–24 months, depending on the treatment chosen.
When Do I see results?
Usually the same day. There may be some swelling, which can cause the area to look fuller at first, but that swelling should resolve itself within a week.
How does Juvederm work?
JUVÉDERM® facial fillers blend with the tissue under the skin to keep you looking like you, whether you’re smiling, laughing, or frowning. During the consultation, your healthcare practitioner will look at your face while it’s still (static), and moving (dynamic), to make sure they’re able to give you a result you’ll be happy with.
Dermal fillers such as Juvederm have gotten a lot of popularity over the last few years. During this simple cosmetic treatment, the doctor injects a special solution directly into the fine lines, wrinkles, and creases of the face to smooth them away temporarily.
